Help and getting started

Tendurhome works best when you use all of it together. Each part feeds the others: your home details make the Repair Guide smarter, its plans fill your monthly tasks, and local pros are one tap away when a job needs a professional. Tap any icon for a quick explanation.

Getting started

  1. Sign up with your ZIP code so searches show companies near you.
  2. Open My home and add your warranties, service plans and trusted companies.
  3. Ask the Repair Guide about anything that's bothering you, with a photo if you can.
  4. Skim the seasonal checklist and leave your details if you'd like reminders.
  5. Invite the people you live with so everyone sees the same repairs.
  6. Check the home page each month for what's due.

Repair Guide

Describe a problem, like "water under the kitchen sink," or tap Add photo to take a picture (up to 4 at a time). You'll get a "What I see" summary for photos, a step-by-step checklist, the supplies you'll need, and a clear note when it's time to call a professional.

Track each repair with the status bar: Requested, Assessing, Scheduled, In progress, Completed. The guide is for reference only. Always put safety first and hire a licensed pro for electrical, gas or structural work.

Home maintenance checklist

The checklist page lists what to do in spring, summer, fall and winter — gutters, filters, alarms, faucets, roof lines and more — with a note on what to leave to a licensed professional. You don't need an account to read it.

Under Get reminders you can leave your name, email and optional ZIP code and we'll follow up about seasonal reminders. It costs nothing and doesn't start a trial.

The checklist is general guidance. Follow your equipment's manufacturer instructions, and call a licensed pro for gas, electrical or roofing work.

My home

Keep three kinds of records in one place:

  • Warranties: what's covered, who provides it, and when it ends.
  • Service plans (service agreements): the company, your last service date, and how often service is due.
  • My companies: pros you trust and how to reach them.

Add or edit a record any time, and watch the Recommended service list — it turns red when something is overdue.

If you manage rental properties, add each one here so coverage and bookings can be tagged to the right property.

Your repair bookings also appear here.

Why we ask about warranties and service plans

To save you money. Many repairs are covered by a manufacturer warranty, a home warranty or a service plan. When you ask the Repair Guide about a problem, it checks your saved coverage and adds a "Coverage" note if the issue might be covered and the warranty hasn't ended.

To protect your coverage. Some DIY fixes can void a warranty. When that's a risk, the guide warns you before you start and suggests contacting the provider first.

To keep service on schedule. Service agreements often require regular visits, like a yearly furnace tune-up. Enter your last service date and how often it's due, and My home shows a "Recommended service" list that turns red when something is overdue.

To point you to the right company. If a saved company fits the job, the guide mentions it.

Coverage notes are based only on what you entered. Always confirm with your provider. Your entries are private to your account and never shared with companies.

Monthly tasks

When a Repair Guide plan includes recurring maintenance (like "flush the water heater every year"), Tendurhome adds it to your schedule automatically, so the home page always shows what's coming up.

Mark a task done and it moves to its next due date. Snooze pushes it back a week without losing it.

Find local pros

Pick a trade to see nearby companies with reviews, photos, phone numbers and websites. Each trade has its own address, so you can send someone the link to the exact list you're looking at.

Companies marked as listed on Tendurhome have full profiles, FAQs and online appointment requests. Listings we published for you are read-only until the company claims them.

Send a company a request

From a repair conversation, choose a company and send the job. They receive the issue, location, urgency and your contact email — never the private conversation with the Repair Guide.

Both sides can reply inside the request: the company can answer with availability or a quote, and you can answer back until the job is agreed. You arrange payment with the company directly; Tendurhome doesn't charge for the work.

Book a repair

Choose a company, pick a date and time of day, choose how you'll pay the company (on site or by invoice), and confirm. The booking shows in My home with buttons to email or call the company and agree the visit. Tendurhome doesn't charge for bookings. You pay the company directly.

Share with your household

From the Repair Guide, create an invite link and send it to anyone you live with. Links expire after 7 days. Members share repair conversations and status. Your My home records and schedules stay private to you.

For companies

If you're a tradesperson, start at For Companies to create an account and publish your listing: the services you cover, hours, photos, website, booking link and answers to the questions households always ask.

Requests arrive in your company dashboard with the job, the location, the urgency and the customer's contact email, and you reply there. You only ever see what a household chooses to send. Connect a calendar and you can take appointment requests directly.
